In queste ultime settimane dell’anno scolastico gli studenti della Primary 8 si stanno preparando per l’esame di Stato per accedere alle scuole secondarie. La data ufficiale non è ancora stata stabilita dal Ministero dell’Educazione, ma dovrebbe essere a gennaio, come tutti gli anni. Le materie d’esame sono 7, le stesse che vengono insegnate all’Ireneo Dud tranne Edilizia. I risultati delle prove di preparazione sono stati buoni e tutti i 17 studenti hanno passato il test.
Gli esami del terzo trimestre finiranno il 30 novembre; da quella data i ragazzi avranno qualche settimana di tempo per prepararsi al meglio per questo importante momento della loro vita. Il voto dell’esame di Stato sarà la chiave che aprirà le porte delle poche scuole secondarie che ci sono in Sud Sudan. Secondo i dati di un documento pubblicato nel marzo del 2011 dal Governo Sud Sudanese, ci sono solo 6 scuole secondarie in tutto lo Stato dei Laghi, nessuna delle quali si trova nella Contea di Cueibet, a cui Bahrgel appartiene.
In these last weeks the students of Primary 8 have started to study hard for the State examination. The official date has not been established yet by the Ministry of Education, but it should take place in January, like every year. The subjects are 7, those that are taught in the Ireneo Dud School except for Masonry. The results of the preparation tests that they have taken this week are good: all the students have passed.
The third (and last) term will end on the 30th November; from that date the students will be free to give their best before the State exam takes place. The marks of this examination are very important for their future: they are the key that can open the doors of the few South Sudanese secondary schools in which every year more students try to enter. According to a document published in March 2011 by the Government of South Sudan, there are only 6 secondary schools in Lakes State, none of which is located in Cueibet County, the area to which Bahrgel belongs.
